The plaque granted states, “presented to Our Community Credit Union for enhancement to Elma and assistance of the organisation neighborhood, Oct-Dec 2017. The award was accepted by Kristi Templeton, Grays Harbor Regional Branch Supervisor of OCCU.

Our Community Cooperative credit union’s Elma branch opened on March 29, 1999 and currently has 7 full-time employees and 1 part-time staff member. The Cooperative credit union, formally Simpson Worker Federal Credit Union, celebrated their 75th anniversary in December 2017, with over 360 million in possessions and recently opened their 8th branch at Steamboat Island. OCCU also runs branches in Shelton, Union, McCleary and Montesano, with over 29,000 members. Anybody living, working, or participating in school in Mason or Grays Harbor County are qualified to sign up with the credit union.Recently OCCU has actually completed a remodeling of the exterior of the Elma branch, and remain in the procedure of establishing a community/ inspiring wall within the branch, which should be finished by the end of 1stQuarter 2018.
